Texas Instruments Digital Still Camera Reference Design
Texas Instruments (NYSE:TXN) offers a digital still camera (DSC) reference design, based on DaVinci(TM) technology. Manufacturers can use the reference design to bring the type of burst capture performance found today only in digital single-lens reflex (D-SLR) cameras to low-cost, point-and-shoot digital cameras. In addition, by enabling high-definition (HD) video on digital cameras priced as low as $99, TI is setting a new bar for DSC performance at competitive retail prices.
ThingMagic Mercury5e Embedded RFID Reader
Mercury 5e is the embedded version of ThingMagic’s Mercury 5 RFID reader. About the same size as an iPod Nano or PCMCIA Type II PC card, it concentrates Mercury 5′s tag reading and writing performance into a tiny package so ThingMagic RFID can be designed into a device. Because it comes fully loaded with state of the art RFID features, it is primed and ready for use in RFID desktop, label, mobile and wearable printers, and handheld and mobile devices. The Mercury5e embedded RFID reader utilizes the Intel RFID Transceiver R1000 chip. The new chip integrates a number of components into a single integrated RFID circuit, and enables digital signal processing and analog data processing on the same chip.
Atmel AT83C5134, AT83C5135, AT83C5136 Microcontrollers
Based on Atmel’s 8051 X2 core, which executes an instruction in 6 clock periods, the new AT83C5134, AT83C5135 and AT83C5136 8051-based USB microcontrollers have 8-, 16- and 32-Kbytes of ROM code memory, respectively. In addition, two variants of the 32-Kbytes version are available: AT83EC5136 and AT83EI5136 which include 512 bytes and 32 Kbytes, respectively, of EEPROM for data storage. The products feature a USB Full-Speed controller, UART, SPI and a two wire Interface allowing an easy connection to companion devices. The new devices are especially suited for high-volume applications where cost matters more than flexibility and where the code is stable.
