MoSys Ships 1T-FLASH Embedded Flash Memory to Luminary Micro
MoSys, Inc. (Nasdaq: MOSY), the leading provider of high-density system-on-chip (SoC) embedded memory intellectual property (IP), announced that it shipped its first 1T-FLASH memory macro to Luminary Micro. The MoSys 1T-FLASH IP runs at 100Mhz and is implemented in a standard 0.13u CMOS logic process. This flash technology is substantially faster than other embedded flash memory technologies. The MoSys technology is also the densest embedded Flash technology available on a standard CMOS process. Luminary Micro, a provider of embedded microcontrollers, will use the MoSys embedded 1T-FLASH memory technology in upcoming versions of its microcontrollers.

Eco-Snow Systems, IMEC Team on Photoresist, Particle Removal Technology
Eco-Snow Systems, the leading supplier of dry, carbon dioxide (CO2)-based wafer cleaning tools and process, has formed a joint development program with Belgian nanoelectronics research center IMEC to develop and study photoresist and particle removal processes using CO2-based cryogenic cleaning systems.

Freightliner Verifies Truck Assembly with NI LabVIEW, PXI
Freightliner LLC, the leading heavy-duty truck manufacturer in North America, selected NI (Nasdaq:NATI) LabVIEW software and NI PXI-based hardware to replace a VME-based proprietary solution for verifying electrical assembly on its new line of heavy-duty trucks. Using NI tools, Freightliner engineers integrated electrical test, machine vision and physical measurements into a system that not only ensures high-quality vehicles but also instructs operators on the correct assembly process.

Verigy Unveils V5000ep Memory Test Solution for Small Lot Production
Verigy (NASDAQ:VRGY), a premier semiconductor test company, introduced the Verigy V5000ep which allows customers to perform quality assurance, characterization and small lot production at wafer sort and final test on new memory devices. While supporting the full spectrum of memory devices, including NOR, NAND, DRAM, SRAM, memory cards and multi-chip packages (MCP), the V5000ep is a fraction of the cost of full-size production systems, with a much smaller footprint.

Advantest Launches SoC Test Cell Solution for Consumer Devices
Advantest Corporation (TSE: 6857, NYSE: ATE), the world’s leading supplier of semiconductor test equipment, is introducing a new, high performance SoC test cell solution for manufacturers of IC consumer devices at Semicon West, Booth 7347, July 17-19 at San Francisco’s Moscone Center. Advantest’s integration of the handler and interfacing along with the tester and software products into a complete test cell offers the industry a new order of test solution for consumer SoCs. The turn-key, highly parallel solution is comprised of Advantest’s new T2000 LS mainframe and new high-density application modules along with its new M4841 state-of-the-art handler — a complete test cell optimized for very high performance targeted to price-sensitive makers of today’s complex consumer device ICs.

Beceem Communications Selects Databahn DDR Memory Controller
Denali Software, Inc.,a world-leading provider of electronic design automation (EDA) software and intellectual property (IP), announced that Beceem Communications has incorporated its Databahn[TM] DDR memory controller into the first commercially available terminal chipset for the latest Mobile WiMAX standard. Denali’s Databahn[TM] DDR controller IP enabled Beceem engineers to achieve optimal system-level performance for its DRAM systems in the design of the 802.16-2005 mobile wireless BCS200 chipset.
