LED Flash to Grow at 23% CAAGR Through 2011
The new Strategy Analytics update on LED demand from cellular handsets, “LED Demand from Cellular Handsets: 2006-2011 LED Demand from Cellular Handsets: 2006-2011,” forecasts that LED flash will grow at a CAAGR of 23% through 2011 even though overall LED revenues from cellular handsets will decline. Backlighting applications will produce 63 percent of total LED revenue in 2011.
Samsung Creates Chipset for HD Radio Receiver
Samsung Electro Mechanics, a global leader in semiconductor, telecommunication, digital media and digital convergence technologies, announced that it plans to introduce a new chipset for use in portable and home HD Radio receivers. Samsung, which had previously become an iBiquity Digital IC development partner, anticipates that samples of the chipset will be available before the end of the 2007 with production anticipated for the first quarter of 2008.
DDC-I Joins EDGE Warfighter Systems Initiative
