Micro Power Electronics is offering a webinar for electrical and mechanical engineers who design portable electronic devices. the 60-minute online seminar will present the latest technologies offered by battery, power management IC, and battery charger IC vendors. The event will take place Wednesday, May 16, 2006 at 2:00 PM Eastern (11:00 AM Pacific) time.

The webcast will review common electrical and mechanical design challenges with portable devices, and then explains how new portable power technologies can overcome these challenges and improve the performance of portable devices. These innovations in portable power include safer battery chemistries, high power batteries, battery authentication techniques, accurate state-of charge measurement, battery conditioning, microcontroller architectures for chargers, and fast charge regimens. The event offers critical knowledge of portable power management for portable devices and battery charging.
