National Semiconductor to Demonstrate Low-Jitter Analog Products at NAB
National Semiconductor Corporation (NYSE:NSM) will showcase its latest industry-leading low-jitter digital and analog video products for the professional and broadcast markets at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Convention, April 16-19, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada. National will conduct live demonstrations of its analog solutions, including a 3 Gbps (3G) serial digital interface (SDI) product family addressing the new Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) 424M specification, analog video switcher and low-jitter sync separator, and a new low-jitter cable equalizer that can extend the reach of digital visual interface (DVI) and high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) cable connections beyond 40 meters.
Signal Forge Boosts RF Output of Signal Generator to 2.6 GHz
Signal Forge released two add-on modules that expand the RF output of the Signal Forge 1000 signal generator to 2.6 GHz. The 2500M Frequency Expansion module provides an RF output in the frequency range of 1.5 GHz to 2.6 GHz and the 1800M provides an RF output in the 1.0 GHz to 1.8 GHz band. The devices extent the 1 GHz output frequency of the Signal Forge 1000 (SF1000) Signal Generator. The modules attach to and are controlled by the SF1000 allowing the user to add higher RF frequency capabilities without buying an entirely new signal generator.
Jazz Semiconductor Rolls Out 130nm SiGe BiCMOS Process
Jazz Semiconductor(R), a wholly owned subsidiary of Jazz Technologies(TM), Inc. (AMEX:JAZ) and an independent wafer foundry focused primarily on specialty CMOS process technologies, announced the release of its 130nm SiGe BiCMOS technology (SBC13) designed for high speed wireless and optical communications applications. This process combines industry standard 130nm CMOS with 200GHz HBT NPN transistors for high performance RF and millimeter-wave integrated circuits. The technology offering includes advanced analog components (inductors, capacitors, and resistors) with high-density digital circuitry to provide scaling of both the analog and digital blocks in a Systems-on-Chip (SoC) approach. This technology enables the design of the highest performance circuits in advanced high speed optical, wireless, and millimeter-wave applications.
