Marvell Develops EDR-Compliant Bluetooth 2.0 Chip
Marvell (NASDAQ: MRVL), the leader in storage, communications, and consumer silicon solutions, introduced the 88W8689 Bluetooth single-chip solution, featuring a Bluetooth Core Specification Version 2.0 + Enhanced Data Rate (EDR)-compliant baseband, a radio frequency (RF) transceiver, and a worldwide FM radio receiver. The 88W8689 is a highly integrated device, providing enhanced data rates and extended-range features at a lower total system cost, as well as industry-leading low power. The 88W8689 supports simultaneous use of Bluetooth applications and FM radio, and includes support for the new Bluetooth Version 2.1 + EDR features.

ATEME Names New Vice President of Marketing
ATEME(TM) SA, a world leader in MPEG-4 video compression solutions, announced that Sylvain Riviere has joined the management team as Executive Vice President of Marketing – a new position for the company. Mr. Riviere joins ATEME’s operational leadership as the company also welcomes the founder of the billion-dollar Iliad Group (Paris Bourse Ticker:ILD), Mr. Xavier Niel, to its Board of Directors.

PrismTech Ports Spectra Suite to flexComm SDR Platform
PrismTech(TM), an acknowledged leader in the provision of state-of-the-art middleware and development tools, announced it has ported its Spectra(TM) Operating Environment (OE) and developer tools to Spectrum Signal’s flexComm(TM) SDR (Software Defined Radio) platform. This port will enable Spectrum Signal users to easily migrate and upgrade their SDR development environment to PrismTech’s high-performance, low-overhead, Software Communications Architecture (SCA) v2.2.2-compliant OE and to utilize Spectra’s productivity tools for rapid application (waveform components and platform services) development.

TI Rolls Out Dual 200-mA Low-Dropout Linear Regulators
Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN) introduced a family of dual, 200-mA low-dropout linear regulators (LDOs) in a 2 mm x 2 mm SON package for portable, battery-powered equipment. The low-noise LDOs provide high power-supply rejection ratio (PSRR) over a wide frequency range of up to 10-MHz, fast 160-µs start-up time and excellent line and load transient response, while consuming a very low total 90-µA ground current with both LDOs enabled.

Spectrum Digital, Temento Unveil Boundary Scan Test Software for TI DSP
Kane Computing Ltd (KCL), the UK Distributor for Spectrum Digital Inc., is pleased to announce the availability of a new boundary scan software package that supports and enhances the capabilities of the Spectrum Digital XDS510USB PLUS JTAG emulator. The new DiaTem Debugger software has been created by Temento Systems, a leading supplier of boundary scan test software.
