Fujitsu Creates Wavelength Tunable Laser
Fujitsu Laboratories Limited announced their development of a wavelength tunable laser for 10 gigabits per second (Gbps) dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) optical transmission. As a world’s first, the company confirmed stable wavelength tunability and optical fiber long-range transmission of a wavelength tunable laser across 80 kilometers (km), in the form of a XFP-type optical transceiver. This new technology will enable practical application of small, high-performance optical transceivers to support high-capacity and high-reliability optical networks.

The P3 Panel System from DSM Computer’s Infinity series optimizes the computer power to match the requirements of the associated application. Equipped with the Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo processor, the industry-standard computer is designed to meet the highest requirements. As an alternative, the IPC can be equipped with Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4, Pentium(R) M or 1.0 GHz Pentium(R) III. The main processor operates with the VIA Apollo CLE266 (VT8623) chip set in conjunction with the 66/100/133 MHz front-side bus. Two DDR slots that can accept 32 to 1024 MB memory modules offer adequate memory capacity.
Agilent Debuts IEEE 802.16e 2005 Protocol Conformance Test Solution
Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) announced its IEEE 802.16e 2005 Protocol Conformance Test (PCT) Solution, which is based on the new Agilent E6651A Mobile WiMAX Test Set. Created in conjunction with Innowireless Co. Ltd., this breakthrough PCT capability will enable WiMAX designers to verify protocol implementations and quickly get products to market. Demonstrations of the Agilent mobile WiMAX PCT System will occur this week in Booth 1863.
Tatara, picoChip to Speed Deployment of All-IP Femtocell Solutions
Tatara Systems and picoChip announced a partnership to collaborate on and jointly market all-IP solutions for the femtocell market. The partnership will focus on developing a SIP/IMS-enabled femtocell reference design to ease the integration of femtocells into a mobile operator’s network thus enabling the significant advantages of an all-IP approach.
