Cypress Creates New Capacitive Sensing Methods for PSoC CapSense
Cypress Semiconductor Corp. (NYSE:CY) introduced two new sensing methods for its PSoC(R) CapSense capacitive sensing solution offering designers best-in-class performance. The new methods are provided in the PSoC Designer(TM) integrated development environment as user modules – CapSense Sigma-Delta Modulator (CSD) and CapSense Successive Approximation (CSA).
TI Announces 16-Bit DAC with Integrated Precision Reference
Texas Instruments Incorporated (NYSE:TXN) (TI) introduced the first product in a new series of precision digital-to-analog converters (DACs) with an integrated precision reference. The DAC8560 is a 16-bit, single-channel DAC featuring ultra-low glitch (0.15nV-s), ultra-low-power (1.5mW at 2.7V) and an internal reference with 2ppm/C temperature drift and +/-0.004 percent initial accuracy. The combination of a precision DAC and outstanding reference performance makes the DAC8560 a flexible, easy-to-use solution for closed-loop control applications found in portable instrumentation, optical networking, industrial process control, machine and motion control, and data acquisition systems.

The AM 400/x01 is a high-quality, low-power embedded graphics AMC module supporting a variety of Digital Flat Panel (DFP), CRT or S-Video devices in single or dual display configurations. In addition, an onboard 2.5″ SATA hard disk drive (HDD) can be added – all fitting within a single-width full-size AMC slot. A mid-size front panel option is available without the S-Video interface.
