OKI Debuts One Time Programmable Memory-Equipped Voice Synthesis LSI
Oki Electric Industry Co., Ltd. (TOKYO:6703) released the OTP (One Time Programmable) memory-equipped voice synthesis LSI, “ML22P80X Series,” which enables customers to write voice data directly to the chip through a specific tool, and to develop various industrial-use devices where only a few units are required of each of numerous different types. Because the voice data can be written in the field, this capability contributes to shortening the delivery time and facilitating the development of sample products. OKI also succeeded in reducing the space by half, compared to the previous LSI.

LeCroy Unveils Eye Doctor Instrumentation and Co-simulation System
LeCroy(R) Corporation introduces Eye Doctor, a digital oscilloscope (DSO)-based instrumentation and co-simulation system that specifically addresses the challenges of analyzing serial data created by the increase of systems’ symbol rates and adoption of receiver equalization. Designed for use with LeCroy’s SDA (serial data analyzer) instruments, Eye Doctor is a major enhancement that enables interoperability measurements to be made on equalized serial data systems.
Altera Showcases FPGA Support for PCI Express 2.0 at DesignCon
Altera Corporation (NASDAQ:ALTR) announced at DesignCon that it is demonstrating support for the PCI Express (PCIe) 2.0 specification, as well as showing PCIe 1.1 and 2.0 signals on cables and backplanes, with its Stratix(R) II GX FPGAs. With up to 20 low-power transceivers, Stratix II GX family is the only high-density production FPGA capable of delivering 100 Gbps of aggregate bandwidth on FR-4 circuit boards and backplanes up to 1 m in length, using the new 5-GT/s PCIe 2.0 specification from PCI-SIG.
