  • ISO and IEC Adopt SNIA’s SMI-S for Storage Networking Standard
    The Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) announced that its Storage Management Initiative Specification (SMI-S) has been designated an International Standard by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). This designation is expected to further accelerate the already widespread adoption of the standard by storage vendors and IT users in all markets worldwide.
  • CSR BlueCore Gains Noise Cancellation, Enhanced Speech Intelligibility
    CSR expanded its portfolio of high quality third party software extensions for its BlueCore-Multimedia platform – including our advanced BlueCore5-Multimedia silicon. The ATS6000MM SoundClear Multi-Mic noise cancellation and hands-free audio processing software from Acoustic Technologies will allow CSR’s BlueCore-Multimedia customers to integrate advanced noise cancellation and enhanced speech intelligibility into products such as Bluetooth headsets, automotive navigation, hands-free systems, and mobile handsets. This new addition to CSR’s eXtension Partner Programme offers customers exceptional voice quality and performance when designing BlueCore Multimedia based products.

    CSR (LSE:CSR) announced that it has added a new compression technology to its powerful DSP-based BlueCore5-Multimedia platform which will offer its customers much improved wireless audio quality. By porting APT Ltd’s enhanced apt-X algorithm onto the BlueCore Multimedia platform, CSR is offering yet more ways for wireless audio designers to create devices which offer improved levels of audio quality, with reduced processing latency compared to the Bluetooth standard SBC encoding, without compromising on power consumption.
