- TI Introduces High-Frequency, Multi-Standard RFID Reader ICs
Using advanced design practices to increase reader efficiency while reducing the integrated circuit (IC) footprint, Texas Instruments Incorporated (NYSE: TXN) (TI) announced the availability of a high-frequency (13.56 MHz), multi-standard radio frequency identification (RFID) reader IC product family. The advanced package design of the TRF7960 family measures 5×5mm, and supports ISO/IEC 14443A/B, ISO/IEC 15693, ISO/IEC 18000-3 and TI’s contactless commerce and Tag-It(TM) portfolio. - NI Introduces Two Multifunction USB Data Acquisition Devices
National Instruments announced two new high-performance M Series multifunction data acquisition (DAQ) devices for USB. With the new NI USB-6221 and USB-6229 DAQ devices, which provide up to 32 analog inputs with a 250 kS/s single-channel sampling rate, NI has extended its USB DAQ offering to 40 devices. The complete NI USB offering now includes low-cost devices starting at $99 USD, high-speed devices featuring 1 MS/s sampling speeds and modular USB data acquisition systems for low-, mid- and high-channel-count applications. - NI Rolls Out TPC-2012 12-Inch HMI for LabVIEW Touch Panel Module
National Instruments announced the release of the NI TPC-2012. The new 12-inch touch panel computer works with the National Instruments LabVIEW 8.20 Touch Panel Module, giving control and design engineers another option for deploying the LabVIEW graphical development environment on Windows CE HMI devices for machine control, embedded control and distributed data acquisition systems. - Samsung India Selects Mentor Graphics 0-In Verification Tools
Mentor Graphics Corporation (Nasdaq: MENT) announced that Samsung Electronics India Software Operations (SISO) has selected Mentor’s 0-In(R) suite of verification tools for hardware development. SISO Pvt. Ltd., based in Bangalore, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Company Limited, South Korea, employing over 900 employees in research and development. SISO uses Mentor Graphics 0-In verification suite, which includes the Clock Domain Crossing (CDC) verification environment, the CheckerWare(R) assertion and interface protocol monitor libraries, along with the ModelSim(R) and 0-In Formal Verification products, to verify a broad range of hardware products for the telecom, wireless and multimedia/digital media markets. - Hitachi Embedded Supports Wind River Consumer Device Platforms
The Embedded Business Group of Hitachi America, Ltd., a subsidiary of Hitachi Ltd., (NYSE:HIT), announced plans for the Hitachi Entier relational database management system (RDBMS), an application-optimized platform with unique, powerful local search, to support two consumer device platforms from Wind River (NASDAQ:WIND). The availability of Entier for both the Platform for Consumer Devices-Linux Edition (PCD-LE) and the Platform for Consumer Devices-VxWorks Edition (PCD-VE) will provide the widest population of developers to date the ability to directly incorporate advanced search functions that allow users to search in a more natural manner, while simultaneously reducing the amount of required application code by a factor of up to 20-fold. - CoWare Virtual Platform Integrates with TRACE32 PowerView Debugger
CoWare(R), Inc., the leading supplier of platform-driven electronic system-level (ESL) design software and services, announced the integration of the CoWare Virtual Platform product family with the Lauterbach Trace32(R) PowerView Debugger. The integration enables developers to debug software executing on a Virtual Platform with Lauterbach’s leading debugger. It complements CoWare’s Virtual Platform technology to deliver a complete development tool set, including the virtual platform execution environment, the virtual platform analyzer, and the processor software debugger. It also provides a single software-debugging interface from virtual platform-based design to production. Using the integration will result in faster, better, and lower cost software development. - Innovasic Unveils TCP/IP Stack for fido Industrial Microcontroller
