  • Intel, CinemaNow Enable Consumer to Legally Burn Movies to DVDs
    Intel Corporation and CinemaNow, a leading Internet provider of downloadable videos, announced a collaboration that will allow consumers using Intel technology-based media PCs, such as those with Intel(R) Viiv(TM) technology, to legally download and record major motion picture movie content to blank DVD discs for playback on both the PC and consumer electronics devices, including most standard DVD players.
  • BuLogics to Showcase BaseCamp Home Automation Interoperability at CES
    BuLogics Inc., producer of innovative, affordable home automation technology for the average consumer, will display its latest BaseCamp(TM) interoperability developments at CES International 2007 in the Z-Wave Alliance Pavilion, LVCC South Hall 1, Booth #20919.   • USB Implementers Forum Completes Micro-USB Specification
    The USB Implementers Forum, Inc. (USB-IF) announced the completion of the Micro-USB specification, a new connector technology that will replace many of the Mini-series plugs and receptacles currently used in portable products. This USB-IF connector specification was developed to support the growing miniaturization trend for portable devices, as well as the continued adoption of USB in mobile phones.
  • Silicon Image Acquires sci-worx, IP Portfolio, SoC Design Capabilities
    Silicon Image, Inc. (Nasdaq: SIMG), a leader in semiconductors for the secure storage, distribution and presentation of high-definition content, announced its acquisition of sci-worx GmbH (“sci-worx”), a leading intellectual property (IP) and design service provider specializing in multimedia, communications, and networking applications. The acquisition of sci-worx is expected to enhance and accelerate the expansion of Silicon Image’s system-on-a-chip (SoC) design capabilities for the storage, distribution and presentation of high- definition (HD) content in the consumer environment.
  • SynaptiCAD Rolls Out VeriLogger Extreme Verilog 2001 Simulator
    SynaptiCAD announced the release of VeriLogger Extreme, a completely new, high-performance compiled-code Verilog 2001 simulator that significantly reduces simulation debug time. VeriLogger Extreme offers fast simulation of both RTL and gate-level simulations with SDF timing information and supports design libraries and design flows for all major ASIC and FPGA vendors, including Actel, Altera, Atmel, LSI Logic, QuickLogic, and Xilinx.
