  • Intel, CinemaNow Enable Consumer to Legally Burn Movies to DVDs
    Intel Corporation and CinemaNow, a leading Internet provider of downloadable videos, announced a collaboration that will allow consumers using Intel technology-based media PCs, such as those with Intel(R) Viiv(TM) technology, to legally download and record major motion picture movie content to blank DVD discs for playback on both the PC and consumer electronics devices, including most standard DVD players.

    The USB Implementers Forum, Inc. (USB-IF) announced the completion of the Micro-USB specification, a new connector technology that will replace many of the Mini-series plugs and receptacles currently used in portable products. This USB-IF connector specification was developed to support the growing miniaturization trend for portable devices, as well as the continued adoption of USB in mobile phones.
  • Silicon Image Acquires sci-worx, IP Portfolio, SoC Design Capabilities
    Silicon Image, Inc. (Nasdaq: SIMG), a leader in semiconductors for the secure storage, distribution and presentation of high-definition content, announced its acquisition of sci-worx GmbH (“sci-worx”), a leading intellectual property (IP) and design service provider specializing in multimedia, communications, and networking applications.
