- Texas Instruments Rolls Out Quad-Port Power over Ethernet IC
Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NYSE: TXN) introduced the industry's first fully integrated Power over Ethernet (PoE) management device that allows multi-port enterprise systems to deliver up to 25 watts of power over a standard Ethernet cable. Supporting operation at -40 to +125 C, the power source equipment (PSE) manager enables commercial, industrial, medical and military applications to manage Ethernet-powered devices using nearly twice the power as previous IEEE 802.3af-compliant systems. - SoftJin's Programmable Synthesis Engine Integrates with HDL Front End
SoftJin, a customized EDA (Electronic Design Automation) software development services company, and Verific Design Automation announced that SoftJin's Programmable Synthesis Engine (PSE), a logic optimization and mapping software product that is customizable for a variety of programmable platform architectures, has been integrated with Verific's Hardware Description Language (HDL) component software. - Xirrus Wi-Fi Sharp Cell Technology Extends RF Shaping Capabilities
Xirrus, Inc., the only provider of high performance, long range Wi-Fi products, announced the availability of its Sharp Cell technology that further advances Xirrus' RF shaping capability by sharply defining the edge of the coverage area produced by the Wi-Fi Array. Sharp Cell also limits the RF bleed outside of a building promoting a more secure network and reduces the interference to neighboring Wi-Fi networks. - Packet Design Receives Patent for Border Gateway Protocol Routing
Packet Design, Inc. has won its first patent for a technology that addresses security and reliability issues in the Border Gateway Protocol (BGP), the routing protocol used by virtually all network routers for communication between service providers and large enterprises. - TSMC 90nm RF Process Design Kit Available for Cadence Virtuoso
Cadence Design Systems, Inc. 42Networks, a Stockholm and Shanghai based provider of broadband telephony products and services, and DOVADO FZ-LLC, a company based in the Dubai Internet City with its extension in Stockholm, have launched the Dovado WRG (Wireless Residential Gateway) in which 42Networks has integrated its embedded VoIP module. - Innominds Software Opens Second Innovation Center in Hyderabad
