  • iRobot Aware 2.0 Robot Intelligence Software Rolls Out as Beta
    iRobot Corp. (NASDAQ: IRBT) announced the beta release of the iRobot Aware(TM) 2.0 Robot Intelligence Software, the first major enhancement to the software platform for iRobot’s family of tactical mobile robots. This also marks the first time the company has offered its Aware software platform, through a rich set of application programming interfaces (APIs) and utilities, to third-party developers. The company also unveiled the Robot Developer’s Kit (RDK), a new set of hardware tools for creating next-generation payloads for military robots.
  • STMicroelectronics Enables Application for Smallest 8-pin MCUs
    STMicroelectronics (NYSE: STM) announced a low-cost, complete evaluation and development package for the tiny 8-pin versions of the ST7Lite microcontroller family, with a recommended resale price of just $12.00. The ‘ST7Ultralite Primer’ is a compact USB-powered tool based on the ST7FLITEUS MCU, pre-programmed with a real-world software application which is designed to demonstrate all of the MCU’s main features and peripherals.
  • Companies Develop In-Vehicle and Wireless CompactRIO Modules
    Engineers and scientists requiring connectivity to in-vehicle communication buses and sensors along with wireless communication now have more options for acquisition, design and control applications. Industry leaders such as AVIAOK International Company, Drivven and Science & Engineering Applications Datentechnik GmbH (S.E.A.) have developed custom modules for the National Instruments CompactRIO platform, adding a wide variety of functionality to the platform for automotive, aerospace and military in-vehicle applications; wireless communications; and position monitoring for mobile applications; as well as direct connectivity to in-vehicle sensors for electronic control unit (ECU) design and rapid prototyping.
  • Kontron Offers PC-based OEM Control System
    Kontron, KW-Software, TenAsys and Profimatics are offering a new innovative PC-based control system for OEM customers. The new control system is based on ThinkIO. With the IEC 61131 PLC runtime system ProConOS, the IEC 61131 PLC programming system MULTIPROG and the machine visualization ProVisIT, KW-Software provides the basic technology for the new control system. Profimatics supplies the real-time operating system INtime which runs in parallel with Windows and ensures real-time. With INtime, Profimatics also provides the adaptation for I/O systems, e.g. for Ethercat and Hilscher CIF.

(NASDAQ: CDNS) announced that 13 new partners have joined its Cadence(R) Verification Alliance Program, a global partner network of consulting companies with skills in verification consulting services, verification IP development, and training for Cadence customers. The companies include GDA Technologies, Ingot Systems, Innovaide, IntelliProp, KPIT Cummins Infosystems, Manipal Dot Net, Mindtree Consulting, nSys, Oski Technology, Silicon Interfaces, StellarIP, Tata Elxsi, and TES PV Electronic Solutions.
