- NXP and TSMC Acquire All Shares of SSMC
NXP Semiconductors (formerly Philips Semiconductors) has increased its holding in Singapore based SSMC (Systems on Silicon Manufacturing Co. Pte. Ltd.) from 50.5 percent to 61.2 percent, an increase of 10.7 percent, for a purchase price of approximately US$113 million, funded by cash at hand. - EtherCAT Enables Fastest Industrial Ethernet for Xilinx FPGAs
Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ: XLNX ) announced the implementation of a scalable EtherCAT slave controller functionality in an intellectual property (IP) core for its Spartan(TM) series of FPGAs. The code was developed and is supported by Beckhoff Automation GmbH, a Xilinx Alliance Program partner. A federal court in Tyler, Texas has ruled that a patent owned by an agency of the Australian government is valid and covers the core technology found in current wireless devices. - ADLINK Debuts NuPRO-851 Single Board Computer with Pentium 4 LGA-775
ADLINK Technology releases its latest PICMG 1.0 full-size single board computer. The NuPRO-851 Series features an Intel(R) LGA-775 for Pentium(R) 4 with FSB 533/800MHz, dual channel DDR2 memory at speeds of 400/533MHz and an Intel(R) GMA900 graphics core architecture providing up to 2048×1536 resolution with 8.5GB/s peak memory bandwidth. - Gleichmann Acquires Swiss ULTRATEC INTER AG
