  • TTM Technologies Acquires Tyco Printed Circuit Group
    TTM Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: TTMI), a leading manufacturer of time-critical and technologically advanced printed circuit boards (PCBs), today announced completion of the acquisition of the Tyco Printed Circuit Group business unit from Tyco International Ltd. (NYSE: TYC; BSX: TYC). Tyco Printed Circuit Group is a leading producer of complex, high performance and specialty printed circuit boards and one of the major suppliers of military and aerospace PCBs in North America.
  • SEMI and SIA Create Nano U Program
    SEMI and SIA announced details for the "Nano U" program to be held on October 31, 2006, immediately preceding SEMI NanoForum November 1-2, 2006 at the Marriott in San Jose, California. Designed to promote cooperation between academia and industry, the full-day session will feature professors from leading university nanotechnology centers discussing the latest research.
  • Blu-ray Disc Portfolio License Includes Sonic Patent
    Sonic Solutions(R) (NASDAQ:SNIC), the leader in digital media software, announced that its US Patent 6,944,621 for dynamic content revision has been evaluated as essential to the Blu-ray Disc (BD) specification for BD players and optical media for the purpose of participating in a joint Blu-ray Disc(TM) Patent Portfolio License being facilitated by MPEG LA.

  • Semiconductor Test Consortium Encompasses Entire Test Process
    The Semiconductor Test Consortium, Inc. (STC), the leading proponent of worldwide adoption of Open Architecture, announced an expansion in scope through a new initiative to enable development of automatic test equipment (ATE) peripheral interface standards. This new initiative will treat the ATE as a "black box," enabling greater portability of test collateral through higher level abstraction of user programming, equipment integration, and device interconnect.

  • Kontron Introduces ThinkIO-P with Extended Temperature
    Kontron debuted the Kontron ThinkIO-P. This most recent innovation from Kontron provides a greater heat range with less power consumption. According to industry standards, the typical temperature range for IPCs is 0 °C to + 55 °C. However, temperatures in many areas of use deviate considerably from this norm in both extremes.
  • Kontron Rolls Out 19-inch KISS-2U Industrial Silent Server
    Kontron unveiled its Kontron Industrial Silent Server - 2U or KISS-2U that will be first presented at SPS/IPC/Drives show in Nuremberg, Germany. This latest addition to the KISS family of products offers a compact solution for harsh environments. Some of the features of the KISS-2U include an especially low installation height (88.90 mm), extremely quiet (< 35 dBA), scalable as desired, RoHS-compatible, long-term availability and ruggedized.
  • Kontron Creates First PIGMG 1.3-Compliant CPU Board
    Kontron announced the availability of its new PICMG 1.3compliant- slot CPU board, the Kontron PCI-960, features Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo processor (up to T7600) and Mobile Intel 945G Express chipset. This latest advancement from Kontron, featuring Intel processors, provides faster processing in a compact form factor with minimal increase in power consumption.
