- CoWare, Toshiba Roll Out Next Generation MeP Models, RTL Tools
CoWare, Inc., the leading supplier of platform-driven electronic system-level (ESL) design software and services, announced the introduction of next generation MeP platforms. CoWare will provide the high-level, high-speed MeP models in the CoWare ESL product suite and Toshiba will provide the register-transfer-level (RTL) tools needed. - Toshiba Debuts 32-Bit SuperFlash Microcontroller for Audio Control
Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc. (TAEC) today announced the expansion of its embedded flash microcontroller (MCU) product line with the addition of a new 32-bit complex instruction set computer (CISC) MCU based on SuperFlash(R) technology. Designated TMP92FD28FG/DFG, it is Toshiba’s first MCU to combine a high-performance SuperFlash MCU for audio control with a USB host controller. It is targeted at automotive and consumer digital-audio applications. In addition, the company introduced a mask-ROM version of the device.

Synopsys, Inc. Real-Time Innovations (RTI), The Real Time Middleware Company, announced that Sperry Marine, a Northrop Grumman Company, has incorporated RTI Data Distribution Service into the development of a versatile and scalable Navigation Data Distribution System (NavDDS) that seamlessly interfaces a wide variety of electronic navigation sensors with shipboard systems and equipment requiring navigation information. Altera Corporation (NASDAQ: ALTR) announced today that Toshiba Corp. selected the lead-free version of its MAX(R) II CPLD family for their newest line of gigabeat(R) portable media players. Altera(R) MAX II devices enabled Toshiba designers to reduce development time by several months and introduce the gigabeat V30T in time to be the first portable digital audio/video player supporting Japan’s one-segment TV and radio broadcasting services.
