  • DATE Electronic System Show Receives Record Submissions
    DATE, Europe’s premier conference and exhibition for electronic system design, automation and test, has, yet again, received all-time record submissions to the conference programme. For the 2007 event, which takes place in the Nice Acropolis from April 16th to 20th, a record 933 submissions were received for review by the members of the Technical Programme Committee, chaired by Jan Madsen (DTU, Denmark).
  • YOGITECH Debuts Mixed-Language OCP Universal Verification Component
    YOGITECH, the leading supplier of OCP based verification solutions, today introduced the industry’s first mixed-language OCP Universal Verification Component (UVC).   • Court Rejects Injunction on Re-Examination of Synopsys’ Patents
    Magma(R) Design Automation Inc. (Nasdaq:LAVA) announced that a motion by Synopsys Inc. (Nasdaq:SNPS) seeking to impede a possible re-examination of two patents at issue in the companies’ ongoing dispute was today denied. As a result of this denial, issued in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (U.S. PTO) may elect to re-examine the patents in question and could ultimately invalidate them.
  • Xilinx ISE 8.2i Includes Support for World’s Largest 65nm FPGA
    Xilinx today announced immediate availability of a downloadable extension to the 8.2i Integrated Software Environment (ISE(TM)) Foundation tool suite allowing access to the Virtex(TM)-5 LX330 FPGA, the industry’s largest 65nm FPGA. ISE Foundation 8.2i delivers a unique, integrated timing closure environment and new productivity-enhancing features to fully exploit the performance and power advantages of Virtex-5 devices, delivering a 30 percent performance advantage over previous generation FPGAs. ISE 8.2i provides an implementation environment optimized to leverage the superior routing architecture of the Virtex-5 family including its enhanced diagonal routing which supports block- to-block connectivity with minimal hops.
