  • Fujitsu, Advantest Form Joint Venture for Electron Beam Direct Lithography
    Fujitsu Limited and Advantest Corporation today announced plans to establish a joint venture to create prototype semiconductors by using electron beam direct lithography, a technology that combines 65 nanometer (nm) and 45nm semiconductor process technologies with electron beam exposure systems. The companies are currently discussing the terms of a formal contract, targeting November for this year for establishment of the joint venture.

  • National Semiconductor Unveils Quad-Output Power Management Units
    National Semiconductor Corporation (NYSE: NSM) today introduced two new, integrated power management units (PMUs) to its family of designer-friendly, easy-to-use PMUs. Optimized to power mid-range, quad-output applications, such as low-power FPGAs, microprocessors and DSPs, the LP3906 and LP3905 PMUs each feature two high-efficiency buck regulators and two ultra-low-noise, low- dropout regulators (LDOs). The high level of integration simplifies system design and increases space efficiency.

  • Pioneer Strengthens PureVision High-Definition Plasma Lineup
    Pioneer announced today that the company will introduce two “PureVision” high-definition plasma TVs equipped with its proprietary technology “New P.U.R.E.(*1) Black Panel” to strengthen its PureVision plasma lineup. The PDP-607HX, 60-inch high-definition plasma TV, is the largest model in the current Pioneer PureVision series, and PDP-427HXD, 42-inch high-definition plasma TV, employs a new sophisticated design. The PDP-607HX will be available in the end of October for a suggested retail price of 800,000 yen (including tax). The PDP-427HXD will be available in the end of September with no retail price suggested.
  • Pioneer Debuts HDD/DVD Recorders with Digital Tuner, HDD Add-on Support
    Pioneer Corporation announced today the introduction in Japan of four new HDD/DVD recorders, the DVR-RT700D (combination VHS/DVD with a 250 GB built-in HDD), the DVR-RT900D (combination VHS/DVD with a 400 GB built-in HDD), DVR-DT75 (with a 250 GB built-in HDD), the DVR-DT95 (with a 400 GB built-in HDD), and a 400 GB add-on hard disk drive HDD-S400. All of new four HDD/DVD recorders are the industry’s first(*1) HDD add-on compatible HDD/DVD recorders with a digital tuner.
