- Freescale’s MSC8144 DSP Ranks First in BDTI Benchmark
The MSC8144 device from Freescale Semiconductor (NYSE:FSL) (NYSE:FSL.B) performed higher than any other fully programmable DSP tested in a new benchmark report published today by Berkeley Design Technology, Inc. (BDTI). Freescale’s MSC81xx DSP, which is based on the SC3400 core from StarCore, achieved a BDTIsimMark2000(TM) speed score ranging from 9520 – 11900, using only one of its four SC3400 cores.

- NEC Designs Op Amps for Measurement and Control Applications
NEC Electronics America, Inc. today announced availability of a new operational amplifier (op amp) suitable for integrated-circuit test applications. The uPC835 junction field-effect transistor (JFET)-type op amp offers high slew rates, a maximum capable capacitive load that measures four times higher than the nearest competitor product and a 3 x 3 millimeter (mm) thin-scaled small-outline package (TSSOP) for increased design flexibility. This combination of features makes NEC Electronics’ uPC835 suitable for IC, memory, system-on-chip (SOC) and logic test equipment.
- NI Unveils New RF Vector Signal Analyzer and Two IF Digitizers
National Instruments today announced three new products that extend high-speed data acquisition and data streaming into RF and communications applications. With the new RF vector signal analyzer and two new IF digitizers that include advanced FPGA-based signal processing, engineers can continuously stream high-bandwidth RF data across high-speed buses, such as PCI and PXI, directly to a PC for processing and analysis.
