Synopsys to Acquire Sigma-C

According to the EE Times, Synopsys will acquire Sigma-C, a German lithography simulation vendor. Sigma-C markets Solid E and Solid+. Solid E is a software package for simulating and modeling optical lithography. Solid+ is a DFM product targeted at process engineers, designers and optical proximity correction engineers. Currently there is no information about the merger on either the Synopsys’ or Sigma-C’s web sites.
