4G Video Over the Air

Posted by Ken Cheung in Wireless on Wednesday, June 28, 2006

Move over 3G, here comes 4G. OK 4G isn't here yet, but it could be upon as soon as the next killer app arrives (maybe video over the air?). 4G technology stands to be the future standard of mobile wireless devices and the successor of 3G in mobile handsets. In general, a generation is defined by a technology breakthrough over a period of time. In this context, 4G refers to the development of a technology change around a new air interface that provides higher data rates, or around the way we transfer data from an end-to-end point of view.
